Our Story

The Together Space is a place for disabled and non-disabled children, young people and their families to comfortably exercise, socialise, play & relax together.

It is an idea inspired by my eldest daughter and the journey that we, with my husband and our two other children, have been on as a family. It’s a journey that continues today.

I have experienced first-hand the social segregation between learning disabled and neurotypical people, often caused by a lack of confidence, misunderstanding and anxiety about mixing. I have started The Together Space because I want to help create a world where all children can grow up together, learn to communicate with each other and celebrate difference.

The Together Space is a hub where families of children with SEND can feel safe, feel supported and share experiences. It is a space for neurotypical families to come and learn about learning disabilities and neuro-diversity. Most importantly, it is a place where all families can come to relax together, without stigma or awkwardness.

I hope to meet you at the Together Space soon.
