June Family Event

  • Gnome House 7 Blackhorse Lane London, England, E17 6DS United Kingdom (map)

Join us on Sunday 14th June at Gnome House for our next Family Play Event! Our inclusive events, which welcome children with and without disabilities and their families, are thoughtfully designed to create the opportunity for all families to connect, exercise, play, learn and grow together, without stigma or awkwardness.

This month's inclusive activities for everyone to enjoy are:

  • CREATIVE SPACE: SUMMER SCENT WORKSHOP Join scent expert Lizzie Ostrumfor a sensory scent-based workshop. You’ll start by testing your nose in a fun challenge — try to match mystery summer smells to pictures with Lizzie’s expert guidance. Then, get creative with Emily as you craft your very own wooden scented summer decoration to take home. Expect the summery aromas of coconut peaches and freshly cut grass!

  • SENSORY SPACE: FREEING POTENTIAL & NEURODIVERGENT CELLIST JO-ANNE COX Ananda from Freeing Potential and neurodivergent cellist Jo-anne will be taking over our sensory space for a very special interactive sensory cello experience. Participants will be encouraged in vocalising and movement, exploring tactile materials, light experiences, including LED wings and instruments, along with electric cello melody and soundscape, all housed in Ananda’s beautifully curated sensory environment. Please note: due to the nature of these performances, children must be supported and supervised by an adult at all times.

  • Jo-anne will host three x 35 minute sessions during the event which will need to be booked in advance, details of how to book will be sent to you closer to the event!

  • Jo-anne Cox is a boundary-defying performer/composer based in London and working across the UK. She is neurodivergent and plays a sparkling purple ‘dragon cello’, a symbol of power and resistance defying society’s expectations to fit the norm. Together they forge a unique fusion blending the warmth of strings with magical electronic textures, dance rhythms, and evocative melody lines. You can find out more about Jo-anne on her websiteSupported using public funding by Arts Council England.

  • ACTIVE PLAY AREA: Enjoy our wide range of toys and games; from train sets to sensory toys, there's something for all ages and interests. Please note: for this event we are moving the active play area into the Fitness & Movement Space to create a calmer environment for our sensory experience.

  • TUCK SHOP:The Together Space Tuck Shop will be open serving children's snacks and soft drinks. Our friends from SEND Coffee will be back serving hot drinks too!

  • FITNESS & MOVEMENT SPACE:Enjoy our wide range of toys, soft play, balance boards, spinning chairs, indoor inflatable, ball pit and more.

  • GARDEN:An inflatable activity run will be in our outdoor space along with garden games and toys.
